BFI London Film Festival 2025 – A Celebration of Global Cinema in London (8–19 Oct)

The 69th edition of the BFI London Film Festival returns this October, bringing a spectacular lineup of films to audiences across the UK. From 8 to 19 October 2025, the festival will spotlight both rising talent and acclaimed filmmakers, offering a rich celebration of cinema from around the world.

BFI London Film Festival – A Global Cinematic Showcase

This year’s festival features an impressive selection of 247 works, including features, shorts, series, and immersive projects from 79 countries. Highlights include the opening night film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery by Rian Johnson, and the closing film 100 Nights of Hero. Curated strands such as Love, Debate, Laugh, Dare, Thrill, Cult, Journey, Create, Experimenta, Family, and Shorts offer audiences diverse perspectives and storytelling experiences.

Iconic Venues Across London

The festival will take place in some of London’s most iconic locations, including BFI Southbank and the Royal Festival Hall. Additional screenings will be held at Curzon Mayfair, Curzon Soho, ICA, Prince Charles Cinema, and Vue West End. Partner venues outside London will also host screenings, making the festival accessible to a wider audience across the UK.

The LFF Expanded strand continues to explore the boundaries of cinema with immersive art, VR, XR, and interactive works. The Industry Forum provides professionals with panels, networking opportunities, and showcases of cutting-edge storytelling techniques, making the festival a hub for innovation in film.
